The Adapt and Include SEND Conference

The Adapt and Include SEND Conference is a one-day conference where we're dedicated to helping activity providers meet the needs of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) hosted at Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth.

Organised by Nicole Bateman, a former teacher, podcaster, and passionate SEND advocate, The Super Sensory Squad co-founder is on a mission to ensure that children with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.

With first-hand experience as a parent of an autistic child with epilepsy, Nicole understands the challenges faced by families navigating the world of activities and tutoring.

Many parents, like Nicole, hesitate to enrol their children in activities due to concerns about whether providers understand their child's specific needs.

The conference aims to address this by

offering training on various areas of SEND and empowering providers to make small adaptations that foster inclusivity in their sessions.

During the conference we will work together to create environments where every child feels valued and included.

What will the Conference offer?

  • Experienced speakers with both lived and professional experience

  • Choice of deep dive interactive workshops on understanding various needs

  • Practical adaptations to ensure your activity is inclusive for children with SEND

  • 2 Course Lunch included

  • Refreshments throughout the day

  • Chill out space

  • Networking with other Activity Providers and sharing of good practice

  • Accessible Venue

This conference is taking place on Saturday 2nd November from 9.30am - 4pm.

It is being hosted at The Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth.

Bournemouth has many direct train links, including to London, Birmingham and Manchester and the hotel is an 18 minute walk.

How will this benefit your business?

Inclusive environments are crucial for the social and emotional development of all children, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent. By fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance, you help all children develop understanding of others in society.

When children feel understood and supported, they thrive and fully participate, leading to better outcomes and more enjoyable experiences for everyone.

There is also a growing demand for activities that cater for neurodivergent children and those with disabilities. By being neuro-affirming and inclusive, you not only meet this demand but also position your business as a leader in inclusive practices.
